Delegate Bin Enclosure reopening
Following its closure, earlier this month due to the discovery of syringes the Delegate Bin Enclosure will be reopening from Tuesday 3 August 2021 for domestic waste and recyclables.
Users of the facility are reminded that waste and recyclables must be placed in the appropriate bins. All other materials such as mattresses, white goods, scrap metals, and paints need to be disposed of at the Delegate Transfer Station during opening hours, or taken to Bombala Landfill.
“Following a difficult and complex clean-up, Council has made the decision to reopen the Delegate Bin Enclosure for the benefit of the community,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Snowy Monaro community urged to support local businesses
With the advent of another lockdown during the peak winter tourist season, Snowy Monaro Regional Council is calling on all community members to throw their support behind our region’s local businesses.
A large number of the region’s businesses rely on the heavy influx of travellers and tourists every winter, and with the second year of COVID restrictions impacting this key period, it is crucial that the local community comes out in force to help the local business community make it through another tough year.
“Despite our small population and large geographic area, the Snowy Monaro is particularly well-serviced by a wonderfully diverse range of businesses and services,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.

Significant upgrades to effluent quality at Adaminaby
Snowy Monaro Regional Council has today announced that work on upgrades at Adaminaby Wastewater Treatment Plant will get underway from Monday 31 May 2021.
Following a community consultation in December 2020 and a subsequent open tender process, the complete overhaul of the wastewater treatment plant in Adaminaby will be of enormous benefit to the community for many years to come.
“Council is grateful to the Adaminaby community for their feedback and cooperation throughout this process of consultation and coordination,” said Mayor Peter Beer, Snowy Monaro Regional Council.
“These upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant will ensure the community will benefit from world-class wastewater infrastructure that meets the needs of the growing township.”

Every dog had its day in Bredbo
This past Friday a working dog day for rural and regional residents of the Snowy Monaro and their canine helpers was held in Bredbo, as part of Snowy Monaro Regional Council’s community recovery efforts and Australian Red Cross’s ‘Let’s Talk’ program.
Hosted by renowned trainer Gary White from White’s Kelpie Stud, the working dog school took participants through the entire process – from how to pick the right dog for the job, through an exhaustive multi-stage training progression – to end up with a world-class doggy employee and business partner.
