Adams would be the first Black resident to hold the office, and he would also be the first Marylander who is paralyzed to win an elected position, the Baltimore Sun reported. The Election The Democratic mayor took office in November of 2019. His term would finish in November of 2023, but the comptroller election is in November of 2022.
