The partnership would primarily focus on art and cultural exchanges, and build on an existing relationship between the Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery and Blacktown Arts. Initial conversations between the Councils’ respective Mayors have been positive, with collection sharing, art tours, artist exchanges, and staff exchanges all flagged as potential benefits for the future. “This is an opportunity to consolidate our existing relationship with Blacktown and open a new avenue for cultural exchanges between our Councils,” said Mayor Turley. ....

Ms Buck has been nominated to be recognised as Freeman of the City as part of a Mayoral Minute proposed for Council’s Ordinary Meeting on Monday 26 July 2021. Waverley Council North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club in Sydney’s east has become the first registered club in Waverley to go solar through an award-winning program jointly created by Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick City Councils. The 3-Council Solar my Club program is a new off-shoot of the hugely successful Solar my School program which the three Councils established in 2016 to help schools make the switch to solar. More than 90% of schools in Sydney’s eastern have signed up to that program which was the first of its kind in NSW to help schools access affordable green energy. Kincoppal-Rose Bay, Bronte Public School and South Sydney High were among the first schools to join the program which has been expanded to other parts of Sydney including Victoria Avenue Public School in Concord West. ....
