Mardi Gras Arrives in Barcelona to Prepare for Transatlantic Crossing Jan 3, 2021 Carnival cruise line’s newest addition, Mardi Gras, has arrived in Barcelona this morning at 08:00 AM CET. This will be the last stop for Mardi Gras will likely stay in Barcelona until tomorrow, after which she sets sail towards Port Canaveral. Second Technical Stop For Mardi Gras After the Meyer-Turku shipyard delivered her in Finland on December 18, Mardi Gras has been slowly making her way south. The vessel performed a technical stop in the Port of Rotterdam, The Netherlands, on December 22. This stop was the ship’s first-ever port call, and luckily for the dutch, they had every opportunity to see her as she was docked right in the city center. Here the vessel took on LNG and provisions, while crew changes were also performed. ....

21 December 2020 Carnival Cruise Line has taken delivery of its highly anticipated new ship, Mardi Gras, in a live virtual signing ceremony at the Meyer Turku Shipyard in Turku, Finland. When Mardi Gras begins guest operations in April, the 180,000-gross-ton vessel will be the most innovative ship in North America as it will be the first ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas. It will also boast a suite of new technology, as well as BOLT, the first-ever roller coaster at sea. The venues, dining and entertainment will be dispersed throughout six distinctive zones, and include a new restaurant by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse, the first-ever Big Chicken by Shaquille O’Neal, two dining venues led by Food Network star Guy Fieri, and a new restaurant concept by master chef Rudi Sodamin. ....
