In the April 6 election, Stalcup defeated incumbent Mayor Cheryl Maguire. A retired regional sales manager at Prairie Farms Dairy, Stalcup has served on the Wood River City Council for the past six years. He announced his candidacy for mayor in November with promises of increased transparency in how Wood River conducts business. ....

One was to resume spending on the Rec Center project, and the other was the appointment of a new board member. Chris Stanley has moved out of the city and suggested he be replaced by Sonya Hagman. Councilman Tom Stalcup will be sworn in as mayor in a couple of weeks and voiced his displeasure at these items being on last night s agenda.
