The East Liverpool Community Improvement Corporation met Thursday to consider a variety of action, including termination of the operating agreement that created the Riverview Business Park LLC, which had been signed in late February 2020 before the pandemic hit.

EAST LIVERPOOL February was a busy month, according to Mayor Greg Bricker. In addition to all the snow and ice removal and repairs to city infrastructure by city employees, there was a lot of work done that residents didn’t see. During his report at Monday’s regular council meeting, Mayor Bricker also explained that his office has been busy, submitting projects for the state budget. In addition to the wellness center and trails, the city also is working on a transportation initiative and hoping to get $150,000 for blight removal and rehabilitation of housing within the city. “We hope to get that project off the ground by next month,” he continued. “We have no shortage of problems when it comes to our housing.”

River Valley Organizing (RVO), which is a citizen-based community group committed toward a safer, cleaner and more transparent environment, hosted Tuesday night’s inaugural town hall on Facebook. Earlier this month, Columbiana County prosecutors declined to file charges against Councilman Ernest Peachey Sr., who had owned a rental property at 746 St. Clair Ave., and the property’s current owner Thomas E. Dennis after police investigated claims into theft of water services at the address by bypassing a water meter with a straight pipe.

Thompson Park board reorganizes for 2021 | News, Sports, Jobs

Staff Report East Liverpool The Thompson Park Board of Commissioners met virtually for a brief meeting last week. The body agreed to hire Ryan Lilly as a new part-time assistant park manager and to purchase a new 5.5′ x 10′ trailer from Tractor Supply for $1,099 to move its fleet of equipment on as requested by Park Superintendent Shawn Rybaczenko. The purchase will come out of the newly renewed park levy money, explained East Liverpool Auditor Marilyn Bosco. In an update on the restrooms, Rybaczenko said that the blueprints have been dropped off for the contractors, and officials currently are waiting to hear back with a start date.
