City Approves Agreement With Aquilla Water Supply

Share City Approves Agreement With Aquilla Water Supply The Hillsboro City Council met in a regular session Tuesday, February 2, and approved a settlement agreement with the Aquilla Water Supply District (AWSD) to address concerns that the two entities have been working to resolve for several years. The city and AWSD initially entered into a contract in October 1981, and the two parties have been negotiating the settlement of certain disputes for several years. The new agreement establishes clear points of delivery of water to the city, resolves concerns about taps made on AWSD s transmission lines to serve city customers, sets up payment by AWSD to the city for use of city facilities to deliver water to other customers, and eliminates a notation on city water bills regarding the cost of AWSD water.
