Four new bus shelters are to be provided for the Naas area.
Local politicians have long campaigned for more of the shelters for residents using public transport in the area.
Two bus shelters were promised for Sallins almost three years ago after the  Sallins Community Council highlighted the need for the infrastructure on both sides of the road  - at the existing bus stops between the canal bridge and petrol station in the centre of the town. 
The fourth will be erected at Dublin Road, Naas, near the Odeon cinema.
Naas Mayor Fintan Brett told a Naas Municipal District meeting that the news will come as a relief for passengers using that stop. ....

The new pedestrian crossing in Kill will be operational by the end of June, at the latest.
That’s according to Kildare County Council.
The local authority is awaiting a design to be finalised and this will be followed by a tender being sought and the work carried out.
The council hopes that the work will be completed in the second quarter of this year, subject to Covid-19 restrictions.
Cllr Bill Clear called for the project to be prioritised, adding “it’s badly needed.”
Naas Mayor Fintan Brett pointed out at a recent Naas Municipal District meeting that the councillors were originally told it was hoped to have the work done by the end of March. ....

‘More litter bins are needed in Naas scenic areas’ councillor

Litter bins are likely to be reallocated in the Naas area.
This will mean that bins are moved to areas where they’re deemed more necessary rather than a likely increase in the overall number of bins.
According to Kildare County Council this will be undertaken shortly.
A number of councillors complained about the overall litter bin service in the town.
Cllr Seamie Moore said more bins are needed in the canal and lakes area because of an increased number of people using these places because of the coronavirus outbreak. He also criticised the badly organised “servicing of bins.” ....
