Storm Christoph: Natural Resources Wales issues second 'danger to life' flood alert


DANGER to life flood warnings have been issued as Storm Christoph continues to impact the region.
Natural Resources Wales has issued a severe flood warning for the Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows.
They said: River levels at Manley Hall are falling and are expected to do so for the next 24 hours. River levels at Farndon are rising and are expected to do so for the next 12 hours. Flood defences are now in operation and the situation on site is being constantly monitored. There is a significant risk of localised flooding problems from surface water.
It is the second such warning to be issued after downpours from Storm Christoph. ....

Update   Wrexham Council have said “Earlier this evening, nine properties were flooded in Berse Road in New Broughton and some residents had to be evacuated.
“Some are sheltering with relatives, while others have been found accommodation by the council after being sheltered for a short time in a church hall. Our housing teams have been making sure they are safe and settled.”
“The council is working closely with partner agencies (including emergency services) through the night to address local issues being created by Storm Christoph.” ....

Nine flood warnings issued in Wales as heavy rain falls across the UK


Nine further flood warnings were issued by Natural Resources Wales.
Eight of these are in the south, with one alert active in North Wales.
The warning covers isolated properties and extensive areas of agricultural land in the Lower Dee flood plain
The last update said: River levels at Manley Hall are falling and are expected to do so for the next few days depending on any further rainfall today.
River levels at Farndon continue to fall, although slowly, and are expected to continue to fall over the next few days, again depending on any further rainfall.
River levels are above normal but flooding of property is not expected at the moment. ....

Flood Warning in place for Lower Dee Valley


The warning covers isolated properties and extensive areas of agricultural land in the Lower Dee flood plain
The last update from Natural Resources Wales (NRW) at noon on Tuesday said: River levels at Manley Hall are falling and are expected to do so for the next 24 hours.
River levels at Farndon have now peaked and will start to fall, although slowly, through today (Tuesday) and are expected to continue to fall over the next 24 hours.
Further rain is forecast tonight and into tomorrow, and the situation may change again.
River levels are above normal but flooding of property is not expected at the moment. ....
