The saga now appears to be over. 
The borough council deadlocked 3-3 on Wednesday on a motion to enforce the disciplinary action and make the police chief give up a second week of vacation or take unpaid leave. That means the proposal failed.
“We should not be voting on this, I’m just saying,” said Councilwoman Anne Geiger, who s pushed for the previously-approved discipline to be enforced.
“Your word is your bond in civil society. And truth and trust form the foundation of what we do here,” she added. “And it’s a slippery slope when we, elected officials, pick and choose what laws to follow, and what policies to enforce.” ....
