Four midfielders Swindon Town could sign this summer

ADVER Sport reporter Jonny Leighfield takes a look at a handful of midfielders Swindon Town could try to sign over the summer in order to help the club bounce back next season.
The first thing to say would be that none of these players are linked with actually signing for Town. They are just a group of the sort of players that I felt Swindon could potentially end up signing and ones that I felt could conceivably be plying their trade in League Two next term.
It’s also tough to know which kind of player the club might go after as the team is currently without a manager. Nevertheless, any or all of these four from League One and Two clubs would be encouraging. ....

Swindon Town beat Wigan Athletic 4-3 on final day of the League One season

SWINDON Town twice came from two goals down to beat Wigan Athletic 4-3 in dramatic circumstances on the final day of the League One season.
A memorable encounter began with Wigan going two goals ahead through Curtis Tilt and Will Keane. Scott Twine pulled one back from a free-kick, only for Zak Clough to poke in a third.
But the game turned when Tilt was sent off for bringing down substitute Tyler Smith as last man midway through the second half. Hallam Hope then struck Town’s second before Smith headed in a late equaliser as the board went up for stoppage time. The action would not end there though, as Twine lashed in a 93rd minute winner to end Swindon’s difficult campaign on a real high. ....

Swindon Town player ratings after defeat to Peterborough United

Lee Camp: 7
Gave away a penalty but made five or six saves to prevent an absolute rout for Posh. Booked.
Jordon Garrick: 6
Found it difficult to balance his priorities at wing-back but looked Town’s most dangerous attacking asset. Final ball wasn’t always as good as it could have been.
Taylor Curran: 5
Switched off for the first goal as Dembele wandered by and was a little slow to react during the second too. Otherwise, he made a couple of good blocks and battled away reasonably well.
Anthony Grant: 4
Jonathan Grounds: 6
Keen to play long balls up to Hope, but kept things simple and tried not to put himself under any unnecessary pressure. ....

Swindon Town player ratings after defeat by Burton Albion

Lee Camp: 7
Kicking was exceptional and made a couple of good saves. Nothing he could have done about either goal.
Paul Caddis: 6
Certainly had a better second half than his first. Caddis combined well with Payne going forward. Subbed.
Akin Odimayo: 6
Anthony Grant: 7
Made an important block on more than one occasion. Continues to be calm and play the ball out from the back.
Ellis Iandolo: N/A
Dom Thompson: 5
Continues to make poor decisions on the ball and lost his marker for Burton’s winner. Subbed.
Matty Palmer: 6
Despite being given the captain’s armband, Palmer didn’t exactly lead from the front. Very so-so performance against his ex-employers. ....
