Briana Harris is thrilled to debut a new quintet featuring old friends and new musical explorations. In February 2021, these five musicians came together for a new recorded project with Boulder’s Octave Records. These live performances are an extension of the spontaneity, ease, and camaraderie built from that recording session. The band will perform original music from Briana that mixes hard-bop roots with chamber jazz touches, and always leaves room for unexpected collaboration. These live performances will be the public debut of many new pieces of music from Bri, which were written in the winter of pandemic isolation, reaching with optimism towards spring. ....

What happens when an iconic recording inspires a chef and sommelier? RENDITIONS – an interactive five course dinner event where the art of gastronomy and music collide. This unique fusion of dinner party, jazz concert and creative symposium is Nocturne’s signature event and only available a few nights per year. In addition to an original 5-course tasting menu, this experience includes chats with the musicians on stage, course explanations by Nocturne’s culinary team & wine pairing notes by Nocturne’s co-owners. For our 25th Renditions Series, we are incredibly honored to collaborate with jazz bassist/composer Matt Smiley and create five original courses that celebrate the launch of his newest recording project entitled Crankbait, released this month on Nocturne’s record label.Ticket includes dinner and music. CCJA is “Digging Deeper” with Matt Smiley In this series, Matt Smiley will take the audience through avant-garde jazz concepts through looking at examples from free jazz, contemporary classical music, and his original music. Audience members will get deeper into how to apply these concepts to their listening, transcribing, and individual and group playing. This series is free and open to the public.
