Timothy Maurice Viney, 36, a Tasmanian-born landscaper living at Goodna, pleaded guilty in Ipswich Magistrates Court to stealing a jacket at the Broadbeach venue on January 11, 2020. Police prosecutor Jack Scott said Viney was no stranger to the court system and this offence of stealing was not the most serious example. Mr Scott said Viney was subject to two suspended jail terms at the time. ....

During the man’s bail application on Monday, Magistrate Virginia Sturgess said there was strong evidence he had been found in a stolen vehicle and allegedly had methamphetamine and a knife. Joshua Peter Robert Haufe, 28, from Regents Park, faced court charged with new offences of unlawful use of a motor vehicle at Redbank Plains on April 15; possession of a dangerous drug; and possession of a knife in public. Lawyer Matt Gemmell argued that Haufe was suited to bail as he was subject to 24-hour monitoring with a GPS tracker, and to the reporting conditions of a parole order. ....

Police noticed the registration and immediately conducted a check, confirming it was not a genuine number plate. Ipswich Magistrates Court this week heard the rider, Bradley Marlin was stopped and spoken to, and later charged with riding while drug positive. Bradley Mark Marlin, 35, from Augustine Heights, pleaded guilty to driving when drug positive at Collingwood Park on July 3 last year; and failing to appear in court on January 27. Prosecutor Sergeant Paul Caldwell said it was 8.40pm when police saw an orange KTM motorbike. ....
Premium Content Subscriber only A MAN accused of killing his girlfriend’s father at a family celebration on Christmas Day last year has not applied for bail. The case of Garth Michael Reid received a brief mention in a callover of serious cases before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Reid, 33, from Woodgate, is charged with the stabbing murder of Warren Toby, 53, on December 25 last year. The charge arises after police were called to a house in Hall St, North Ipswich soon after 11.30pm on Christmas Day. Mr Toby is alleged to have died in the front yard from his injuries. ....
