CANTON Local resident Jim Gibson announced his candidacy for Town of Canton highway superintendent.
Gibson is a lifelong resident of Canton and he resides with his wife Kathy on the Pike Road. Together, they have two adult children Meghan Nichols and Dawson Gibson, who also work in Canton.
“My family owns and operates a construction company, which has been in business since 1966,” Gibson said. “Our business provides a variety of services including mowing services, excavation work, culvert and driveway installation, as well as snowplowing services.”
The highway superintendent and its employees are responsible for construction and maintenance of all the town roads. Gibson is a past employee of the town highway department. ....
