Geelong draftee Max Holmes has revealed the text message he received from one champion Cat soon after being drafted.
Speaking on
SEN Afternoons, Holmes, who Geelong drafted with pick 20 in last week’s AFL Draft, said it was a fellow Melbourne Grammarian that got in contact with him after he was selected by the Cats.
“I went to Melbourne Grammar, and Tom Hawkins also went to Grammar, so it was great receiving a text message from him,” Holmes said.
“He was saying it’s been a long time since he’s played alongside another Melbourne Grammar boy so he was excited, and I was too to be fair.” ....
