The library will launch its Connecting Seniors Initiative using the grant from the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility through its Seniors Community Grant Program. The initiative aims to help older adults who are dealing with isolation caused by COVID-19. “We saw an immediate need to help our community connect when we had to close down in March 2020,” library chief executive officer Melissa Sones said in a statement. “For many in our community the library was a social hub, and as we shifted to connecting virtually we realized that many of our older adults couldn’t participate because they didn’t have access to affordable internet.” ....
