Vandergrift group that watches borough's parks looking for more volunteers

A volunteer group committed to promoting kindness, safety and positive play among children in Vandergrift area parks is looking to grow its membership.
The group, called the Vandergrift OWLS Park Supervisor Program, uses volunteers who are dedicated to making sure borough parks are safe and welcoming for the community.
During a recent OWLS an acronym for observe, walk, listen and serve outing, co-founders and husband-and-wife team Jody and Kristen Sarno were easy to spot in matching yellow t-shirts emblazoned with large owls. ....

XENIA The new owners of the former Greene County Career Center building in Xenia Township are planning a massive transformation in the coming months.
The end result could be a very positive one for the community. The three local business owners Kip Morris, Chris Adams, and Doug Van Dyke who purchased the 2960 W. Enon Road complex are formalizing plans to turn it into a multi-functional trade school and recovery center this fall. A business incubator and temporary housing available to those in need will also be included. ....

Mobile: Thousands of joyful revelers, many without masks, competed for plastic beads and trinkets tossed from floats as Alabama’s port city threw a Mardi Gras-style parade Friday night, its first since Carnival celebrations were scrapped earlier this year by the COVID-19 pandemic.
