Merizo Pier Project holds annual community cleanup By Dylan Clymer View Comments The Merizo Pier Project restarted its annual cleanup on Saturday after being dormant last year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The coordinator and creator of the Merizo Pier Project, William Naden of Merizo, said the first cleanup was in 2017, with volunteers returning to the pier annually to remove trash from the coral reef and shores. It isn t a formal organization, but a collective of young residents from Merizo that volunteer to pick up and dive for trash. Volunteers from Americorps and Tokio Pacific Insurance also contributed to the cleanup. ....
