Upon Method Man’s arrival to the rap game in 1993, his trajectory was limitless. While all of his Wu-Tang Clan brothers would go on to expand on their celebrity, visibility and interactions with the media, Method Man was a bona fide star from the start; instantly recognizable for his cloudy contacts, razor-sharp gold grills and the lone feature for Biggie’s Ready To Die. He was the unambiguous face of Wu-Tang Clan whenever he wanted to be. Method Man also hails from an era where your rapper ranking was not only defined by the skills you display in the songs but also as a definitive body of work. It’s been almost customary for fans (of that era) to generally associate the artist’s first project as their best one. Most classic debuts typically arrived when the artist’s mystique and buzz were colliding at warp speed, so it’s not necessarily a wild assumption. ....
Updated on February 17, 2021 at 12:21 pm DEA What to Know Drug Enforcement Administration agents and NYPD officers raided a methamphetamine conversion lab in a vacant Bronx apartment earlier this month, the first such lab to be discovered in New York City, the DEA said in a statement released Wednesday. Agents and officers also arrested three men and seized 22 pounds of methamphetamine, 45 grams of heroin, and 2,000 pills, possibly Percocet and oxycodone, law enforcement officials said. The meth conversion lab raided on Feb. 3 was located within a large six-story building at 3204 Kingsbridge Avenue directly across the street from a public elementary school, law enforcement officials said. ....
Method Man sat down with Jemele Hill for her Spotify podcast Jemele Hill Is Unbothered on Monday (December 21) and revealed he recently submitted a few tracks for a forthcoming effort from the group – though he hasn’t gotten an update in a minute. “We were working on something, I did two songs but I haven’t heard back in months,” he told Hill. “That’s just Wu-Tang. That’s how we work.” The group hasn’t released a full project since 2015’s Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, which was a one-of-one that was infamously purchased by disgraced pharmacy CEO Martin Shkreli. In 2016, Ghostface Killah told HipHopDX the next effort was already a discussion and this time we’d see him at the helm. ....
Method Man has had a busy year, which is ending with him in his stellar role as Davis MacLean on Power Book II: Ghost. To talk about his year and what’s on the horizon, Meth hit the Jemele Hill Is Unbothered podcast. Method Man’s MacLean is currently deep into a court case with Tasha St. Patrick and the rapper detailed what drew him to this role. “I don’t want to jump too far into the lake before I take enough swimming lessons – let’s just put it that way,” Method Man said. “But this was a great time for a role like this to come up, and a great cast and a great place to do it at…Based off the fact that I know this audience, I’m a little bit more comfortable doing what I do on the screen, because I know they’ll understand it if no one else does.” ....
