SEBUAH lokasi observasi matahari berusia 2.300 tahun di Peru, sebuah struktur yang berupa 13 menara batu yang dibangun di atas bukit dan dijadikan kalender, dinyatakan sebagai Situs Warisan Budaya Dunia oleh UNESCO, Selasa (27/7). Observatori Chankillo, yang dibangun oleh perabadan kuno sekitar dua milenial sebelum hadirnya suku pemuja matahari, Kerajaan Inca, bisa dengan tepat melakukan observasi astronomi. Reruntuhan di atas bukit yang terletak sekitar 400 kilometer di utara Lima itu sejak lama membingungkan para ilmuwan. Kemudian pada 2007, penelitian yang diterbitkan di jurnal Science mengajukan teori bahwa menara yang dibangun antara 200 dan 300 SM itu menandai perubahan musim panas dan musim dingin dan Chankillo merupakan bagian dari observatorium matahari. ....
