The Muskegon County Board of Commissioners voted 5-4 Tuesday evening against a motion to censor a commissioner for a Facebook post attacking another commissioner. In June, Commissioner Zach Lahring directed homophobic comments at board chairman Bob Scolnik in a Facebook post, including calling Scolnik a “little queer.” Discussion over the comments at the June 29 meeting included public comments from Muskegon residents voicing both support and disapproval toward Lahring s post. ....

The sign upgrade project just completed by the Muskegon County Road Commission included 10 intersections and 51 road sections with significant curves. Signs added include dual stop, dual stop ahead, cross traffic does not stop and chevron curve warning signs to improve driver awareness of high-speed intersections and curves. ....

Deputies in Muskegon County are looking for two missing teens. Vilma Susana Lux Lopez, age 17, is approximately 4’6” 115 pounds with black hair and black eyes. Amelia Adelaida Lux Lopez, age 15, is approximately 4’8” 100 pounds with black hair and black eyes. The sisters are of Guatemalan decent and speak limited English. They are considered missing/runaways. The teens were last seen in Ravenna on December 12.
