The Highland County Society for Children and Adults, one of the most unique local charitable organizations in the country, is in its 71st year of service to Highland County. The society traces its history back to Nov. 13, 1950, when 51 residents of Highland County representing various civic, health and church organizations met at the Highland County Courthouse to discuss the organization of a local group to work in conjunction with the Ohio Easter Seal Society.
24th annual Herb Day to be held April 17

Parsley fans should attend Herb Day to be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 17 on the grounds of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Popular parsley is the herb of the year, said Herb Day organizer Jean Szabo, and will be among many herbs receiving attention at the 24th annual gathering.
“Herb Day will feature vendors who sell a variety of merchandise,” Szabo said. “A large amount of plants, local art, crafts, garden wares, books, herbal teas, products made from all-natural ingredients, honey and, did I mention herbs, and more. Herb Day, an important cultural attraction, is an asset to the continuing development of the city of Montgomery.”
