Having been part of a 38-man list submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari for appointment into the commission, Dankaka, a native of Offa, Kwara State, was confirmed on merit. However, the circumstances surrounding the appointment of the second principal officer of the commission raised some eyebrows as Mohammed Tukur Bello is from Taraba State, also in the north. Wada tackles Kogi gov over claims on COVID-19 vaccine Sodiq Oyeleke Kogi State Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the 2019 governorship election, Musa Wada, has faulted the state’s governor, Yahaya Bello, for discouraging Nigerians from taking the coronavirus vaccine. The PDP’s candidate said Bello lacked the expertise to speak on such a matter in a statement titled, ‘You lack what it takes to advise Nigerians on COVID-19 vaccine, Engr Musa Wada tackles Yahaya Bello’, issued on Tuesday. Bello had in a viral video alleged that the vaccine would kill people in Nigeria. “These vaccines are being produced in less than one year of COVID-19. There is no vaccine yet for HIV, malaria, cancer, and for several diseases that are killing us… We should draw our minds back to what happened in Kano during the polio vaccines that crippled and killed our children. We have learned our lessons. ....
The house razed by the thugs As the family of the deceased kicks, security agencies charged with the task of fishing out her killers seem not to have done enough in bringing the perpetrators to justice. Husband of the late politician, Elder Simeon Babani Seidu Abuh, who spoke with our correspondent, said the family was still in trauma over the gruesome murder of his wife.
