BAHAWALPUR: District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran visited Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and inspected security of Chinese engineers.
A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said that the IGP had issued directions to further tighten the security of Chinese engineers who had been working at different projects in several areas of the province. “Following the directives of the IGP, the DPO visited the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park and inspected the security of Chinese engineers,” he said. The spokesman said that the DPO also held a meeting with the officials of Desert Rangers and other law enforcement agencies at the solar park. ....

TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police on Sunday arrested 13 persons on the charge of betting on dog fight at Chak 721/GB.
Reportedly, the police raided a site where a dog fights tournament was going on and scores of people were watching it and betting on dog fights. The police seized several motorcycles which the participants left during the raid. When contacted, district police spokesperson Attaullah claimed that the police had sent arrested accused Imran and his 12 accomplices behind the bars and were conducting raids to arrest organisers of the tournament. He told that a case had been registered on the complaint of Pirmahal police SHO Muhammad Azam. ....

TOBA TEK SINGH: Pirmahal police on Sunday arrested over a dozen people for arranging a dog fight in Chak 721-GB.
When a police party raided the venue outside the village, more than 60 people were watching the banned sport with most of them betting on fighter dogs.
Police also took into custody several motorcycles the gamblers abandoned during the raid. Toba police spokesperson Attaullah said 13 people had been sent behind the bars while search for the organisers of the illegal show was on.
A case has been registered on the complaint of Pirmahal police SHO Muhammad Azam.
Dog fights are illegal in Pakistan and punishable by a maximum six-month sentence under animal cruelty laws, but this does not deter the crowds. Most of these fights take place in the interior parts of Punjab. An intense fight can easily carry on for an hour. ....
