張志新臨刑前喉管被割的慘劇，很多上了年紀的人都知道。藏人赤列曲珍臨刑前也被割了喉管，而且比張志新更慘，卻鮮為人知。
赤列曲珍是文革時被中共定為「反動分子」，西藏人人皆知。1970年2月的一天，拉薩人傾城而出，被帶往公審赤列曲珍的大會現場拉薩人民體育場和南郊流沙河刑場，接受觸目驚心的階級教育。身穿暗紅色氆氌藏袍的赤列曲珍，身體瘦弱。2001年，一位曾在西藏當兵、工作30多年的漢人老先生告訴作家唯色，當時他就站在赤列曲珍的跟前，目睹了赤列曲珍被槍斃：「那簡直比張志新還慘！」「她的喉管也被割了嗎？」「是的。怕她喊口號，擾亂人心。不但把她的喉管割了，還用幾根鐵絲穿透了她的腮幫。從這邊穿到那邊，再緊緊地拴在腦後。結果滿嘴、滿臉都流著血，胸前也是血，慘不� ....
