MediaTek Dimensity 700 system-on-chip (SoC) was launched on Wednesday to bring 5G phones to the masses. The new 7nm chipset comes with support for 90Hz displays as well as offers dual 5G connectivity. It also offers octa-core processing at a maximum clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. Oppo teams up with Vodafone, Qualcomm and Ericsson for first 5G SA network in Europe
5G availability has been steadily increasing throughout Europe though at varying speeds. Oppo has now teamed up with Vodafone, Qualcomm and Ericsson to bring the first commercial 5G SA (Standalone Architecture) network in Germany which will be available to Find X3 Pro users after a software update.
Users in Dusseldorf, Munster, and Leipzig will be the first Europeans to benefit from 5G SA coverage. 5G SA brings much lower latency at 1ms compared to 5G NSA (Non-standalone) at around 20ms. The standalone mode only relies on 5G cell towers for signaling and information instead of using older LTE network infrastructure. ....

Oppo Find X3 Pro users are about to get much better 5G performance

Earlier today, Oppo announced that it has collaborated with the likes of Vodafone, Qualcomm, and Ericsson to bring the first 5G SA (Standalone Architecture) network in Germany. This promises to provide faster and more reliable 5G speeds, but for the time being, it’s only limited to the Oppo Find X3 Pro, which recently was released.
The first cities that will be able to take advantage of this new 5G connectivity are Dusseldorf, Munster, and Leipzig. Oppo also stated that there will be a software update released which will essentially “flip the switch” to bring compatibility with the 5G SA network. The company states that the update is coming “ideally within April”, so you’re likely only a couple of weeks away from seeing the update arrive. ....
