To go ahead with plan after Karnataka HC failed to intervene
The Centre will push ahead with its proposal to wind up Devas Multimedia after the Karnataka High Court declined to intervene in the matter. A clutch of investors in Devas had attempted to block the liquidation process in India and in a US court.
The US District Court in Washington court had initially given a temporary injunction after shareholders of Devas Multimedia filed a petition that Antrix could force a settlement on Devas without the consent of its shareholders. But this was vacated subsequently. Last week, the Karnataka High Court also allowed the liquidation pleadings filed by the Centre to be heard by the NCLT. The Centre, vide notification dated January 18, 2021, had authorised the Chairman & Managing Director of Antrix Corporation to present a petition to wind up Devas. Accordingly, Antrix Corporation filed a company petition before NCLT, Bengaluru.

KUALA LUMPUR: Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) (pic) is buying the majority of cinema assets from MCAT Box Office Sdn Bhd and Reel Entertainment Holdings Sdn Bhd, which are operators of the former MBO cinema circuit.
Both MCAT Box Office and Reel Entertainment are going through a creditors’ voluntary winding up.
In a statement, GSC said the acquisition is expected to be completed by end-June 2021.
No acquisition price was disclosed.
GSC, Malaysia’s largest cinema exhibitor, is a wholly owned subsidiary of PPB Group Bhd

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we have had to cancel the 2021 Amuri A & P Show. The last time this happened, due to an epidemic, was in 1948. However, so much time and effort goes into organising this fantastic event that the committee has decided to hold a community picnic/BBQ lunch on Sunday 7th March instead. Details of activities and entertainment will become available and advertised on Facebook over the next few days. This will be a low key event in comparison to the usual show, but we hope to pull together a fun-filled event to show our community that we are all in this together.
