Punjab schools to have 2-3 weeks off for summer vacations: Murad Raas Pakistan Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas. File photo LAHORE: Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said Friday that this year, summer vacations in schools will be for only two to three weeks as students have suffered a lot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The provincial minister made the remarks while addressing a press conference in the provincial capital with Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid. Raas said that the provincial government has started vaccination for teachers and other non-teaching staff of educational institutions. There are 16,000 teachers and 4,000 non-teaching staff in the province. We are trying to complete the vaccination of teachers by end of June before reopening schools from June 7, he said. ....

Top Story May 26, 2021 KARACHI: The appeal against acquittal of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on account of false declaration before the Election Commission of Pakistan with regard to his dual citizenship during the 2008 elections was filed before the Sindh High Court, the Election Commission of Pakistan told the SHC on Tuesday. Filing comments on a petition seeking disqualification of Chief Minster Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah from the provincial assembly constituency, the ECP submitted that Murad Ali Shah had contested the general election in 2008 and declared as returned candidate while he was holding dual nationality. The ECP’s special secretary submitted that CM Murad Ali Shah after the SC’s judgment on dual nationality opted resignation from the provincial assembly seat instead of filing a declaration before the ECP that he was holder of dual citizenship. ....
