Police confirmed a report was being prepared for the coroner after the crash on Endeavour Drive at about 10.48am. Paramedics rushed to the scene and worked on the man, who was originally in a critical condition. The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating. Two men were injured in a gun battle early Friday after an ex-boyfriend shot his way into an apartment on Tryon Drive only to be met by his former girlfriend’s armed love interest, police said. The 1:15 a.m. shooting happened at the Briarcliff Apartments in the 1800 block of Tryon Drive, adjacent to single-family homes off Pamalee Drive. According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the incident began when the ex-boyfriend fired a shot through the front door of the apartment, then kicked his way inside. There, he was met by the woman’s current boyfriend who retrieved his own weapon and the two men exchanged gunshots in the parking lot. The names of the individuals involved were not released. ....
