Police have arrested four people here in Maharashtra for allegedly threatening a man with dire consequences after he married a woman with whom one of the accused was in love, an official said on Wednesday.
Representative image. THANE: The Mumbra police arrested five persons with deadly weapons and foiled a murder bid on the complainant of a assault case registered with the Rabodi police station. The police said those arrested are identified as Nizamuddin Rahimtulla Shaikh, 38, Mehmooz Zahir Khan, 29, Shakil Khan, 27, Moin Mehaboob Shaikh, 27 and Imran Harshad Khan @ Bunty Gharya 38. The police said that one Shahbad aka Ramo Sayyed had complained about some persons from Rabodi of assaulting him and an offence under sections 323,504,506 and 427 of the IPC. They wanted him to withdraw the complaint made against them with the police. The victim was threatened to withdraw the case but he did not heed, the police informed TOI. ....
Representational image. Thane city is showing positive signs with lesser COVID-19 cases and more recoveries after recording a huge spike in April. For the first time in over two months, the cases have dropped below 300. On Tuesday, the city saw a spike of 290 against 388 cases on Monday. Whereas, 723 people were discharged against 685 a day ago, taking the number of recoveries to 1,17,866. The recovery rate stands at 94 per cent. However, eight people also lost their lives. The overall toll count stands at 1,784. The active cases too have come down to 5,155. On a positive note, eight wards reported new cases below 40. Majiwada-Manpada ward which was reporting new cases in three digits has reported 77 cases, followed by 52 in ....
