Arjun Maini gears up for DTM Opener at Monza

Rome [Italy], June 16 (ANI): Mercedes-AMG driver Arjun Maini on Wednesday said that he is confident of a good season ahead of the opening round of the revamped 2021 DTM series, which is scheduled to take place at the Monza race circuit in Italy between June 18-20.
When quizzed at a press conference about the probable contenders for the championship, the 23-year-old Indian driver backed himself to be the surprise performance of the season. I m delighted to be back racing full-time after the lockdowns affected my 2020 season. I have been wanting to race in DTM since 2015, when I was still in Formula 3, so it feels a bit surreal to finally be able to make my debut. Competing in the series certainly won t be easy but it s the challenge that makes this experience so exciting for me, said Maini. Jehan wins Race 3 to move up to second place in Asian F3 Championship
ABU DHABI: Indian racer Jehan Daruvala ended round 3 of the Formula 3 Asian Championship with an emphatic win from pole position here on Sunday, pushing himself up to the second spot in the points table.
Each racer is allowed to use two sets of tyres per weekend. Jehan had kept aside his fresh set of tyres for the last race of the weekend.
Guanyu Zhou from China was expected to be on a similar strategy, starting second. The lights went off and Jehan, driving for Mumbai Falcons, had an excellent start from the pole to lead into the first corner.
