SRINAGAR, Mar 10: Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, today said that police pre-empted and averted two Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blasts in South Kashmir and arrested several persons including a student who was motivated to carry out car bombing.
While addressing a press conference today, Kumar said that a blast was being planned using a vehicle by four persons. “One Sahil Nazir of Pampore, a BA first year student, was motivated through Telegram. He revealed that he had bought an old vehicle (JK01E-0690) to be fitted with explosives, which was being brought from North Kashmir,” said Kumar.

SRINAGAR: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar on Wednesday claimed to have pre-empted two major militant strikes in south Kashmir even as he termed the killing of Al-Badr chief as major success for security establishment.
Addressing a presser here, the top police officer of Kashmir also announced that stone pelting would not be allowed at any cost and declared that most of the 39 youth arrested in connection with the last Fridayâs incident at Nowhatta here are being booked under Public Safety Act, the legislation described as âlawless lawâ by the Amnesty International.

Srinagar, March 10 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted two terror modules and prevented IED blasts after arresting seven persons who were mostly radicalised and drawn to militancy through social media, police said on Wednesday.
Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, said at a press conference here that in the last few days the Awantipore police have busted two terror modules of terrorists planning to carry out IED blasts.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have busted two terror modules and prevented IED blasts after arresting seven persons who were mostly radicalised and drawn to terrorism through social media, police said on Wednesday (10 March).
Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, said at a press conference that in the last few days the Awantipora police have busted two terror modules of terrorists planning to carry out IED blasts.
One of the modules was a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group which was planning a car bomb blast in the Pampore area or somewhere along the National Highway.
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have busted militant modules of proscribed outfits JeM and LeT and arrested seven militant associates.
A police spokesman in a statement said that besides, recovered huge quantity of explosive material, detonators, grenades and also seized a Maruti car.
The spokesman said that Awantipora Police received information that terrorists of proscribed outfit JeM are planning an attack by means of triggering vehicle born IED in the Pampore-Khrew area.
“Upon this information police along with 50 RR and CRPF carried out a search in the Pampore area,” said the spokesman.
“During search one person was apprehended identified as Sahil Nazir son of Nazir Ahmad Mir resident of Drangabal Pampore,” he said.
