Gone were players like Jonathan Vilma, Jo-Lonn Dunbar, Scott Fujita, and Scott Shanle that helped fuel three playoff runs and a Super Bowl title between 2009 and 2011. In their place were draft busts like Stephone Anthony and Hau oli Kikaha and disappointing free agent pickups like Curtis Lofton or James Laurinaitis. The New Orleans linebackers were athletically and strategically overmatched, leading to consistent defensive breakdowns. ....
