CAUSE: Two brave volunteers are taking on the challenge Two kind volunteers will be taking place in an arduous sporting challenge to raise funds for dementia services right here in North Cumbria. Volunteers Jordan Mattinson and his good friend Callum Swindale are taking part in the John West Great North Swim 2021 on Saturday 12th June, each swimming one mile to raise vital funds for our Dementia services in Copeland. They stated: The event takes place at Brockhole on Windermere and every penny raised will go towards expanding our Dementia Services here in Copeland including introducing new activities for our Memory Cafe including Art Therapy and Singing for the Brain sessions. ....
VOLUNTEERS from a charity in Copeland, Copeland Age and Advice Service, are raising money through a charity swim. The charity helps over 55’s in Copeland to live independently through the provision of benefit checks and assistance with benefit claims. For 10 months, senior care and hospice facilities have been closed to visitors to stop the spread of COVID-19 to vulnerable populations. Hope Hospice shutdown their volunteer program on March 16, 2020 amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Since then, seniors and patients living with dementia are not able to have any family visitors, pet therapy, and other volunteer services.
