The Rotary Club of Orangeville Highlands has announced the five recipients of the Rotary Community Choice Grants. Three non-profit organizations and charities who were chosen by community vote are Streams Community Hub, the Alzheimer’s Society of Dufferin County and the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society Orangeville. The non-profits selected by the Rotary Grants Committee are Fiddlehead Care Farm and ALAS Dufferin. All five organizations were given a $1000 grant. ....

The foundation is making an additional $30,000 in emergency grant funding available for not-for-profit organizations who have mental health and well-being initiatives in Dufferin County. The deadline for organizations to apply is Feb. 28, with the money being dispersed later in March. The Dufferin Community Foundation gave out over $160,000 through the Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) last year and the common theme coming from not-for-profits was that issues surrounding mental health were growing in the shadow of the pandemic. ....
December 10, 2020 · 0 Comments By Sam Odrowski An Orangeville women has raised over $5,000 this year through her “Shop With Purpose” fundraisers and markets, where 10 per cent of each vendor fee is donated to a different not-for-profit each month. Jessica Medeiros founded Shop With Purpose in March of last year and has since supported countless local not-for-profit organizations, such as Bethell Hospice Foundation, Community Living, Headwaters Healthcare Foundation, Choices Youth Shelter and the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County. “A portion of everything that we do goes to a cause, which is how we end up donating, what we donate,” said Medeiros. Last year, over $2,000 was raised for charitable organizations in the community. ....
