Criminal Courts Judges Dump Ministry of Justice

What appeared to be a calculated plan to get the Judicial Branch of Government involved into the ongoing argument of financial strangulation between the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP) and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) did not materialize on Wednesday, May 19, after the judges cleverly refused to associate themselves with the would-be plot.
The five-judge panel, in its unanimous decision not to delve into the  financial wrangling between the MoJ and MFDP, made specific reference to the Judicial Financial Autonomous Bill, which the judges quoted as saying, “The Judiciary can summon the Ministry of Finance for failure to remit funding on a quarterly basis into a Judiciary Account at the Central Bank of Liberia (CBL).” ....

Emily Rose Grover, Teen Accused of Rigging Homecoming in Florida, Faces 16 Years in Prison

A teenager accused of rigging a homecoming queen election with her mother will be charged as an adult and could face 16 years in prison, prosecutors said Tuesday.
Emily Rose Grover was 17 years old when she was arrested in March for multiple felony charges, but she turned 18 in April. The State Attorney s Office in Escambia County, Florida, confirmed to ABC News that she will be tried as an adult.
Prosecutors allege she and her 50-year-old mother, Laura Rose Carroll, rigged the competition by hacking into a school district computer system. ....
