As we head into the day tomorrow and continue through Thursday, the First Alert Weather Days will be in effect for flooding across much of East Texas. The potential for large hail and high winds will increase with storms on Saturday afternoon and evening. The chances of tornados will be low. The weekend will be warm with morning lows near 60 degrees and the afternoon highs in the low 80s for most of the region, except east of the caprock. ....

This trough will strengthen westerly onshore winds. A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 2 p.m. Saturday for the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas. Gusts through the San Gorgonio Pass and surrounding areas could reach up to 60 mph. The valley floor is expecting gusts to reach 40-45 mph. This meets the criteria for a First Alert Weather Alert Day. Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. through Sunday night a First Alert Weather Alert Day will be in effect. The advisory will expire for the Coachella Valley at 7 p.m. Sunday and continue for the pass, Desert Hot Springs, and mountains through 5 a.m. Monday. ....
