Doha: Speaker of the Shura Council and Chairman of Global Organization of Parliamentarians Against Corruption (GOPAC) HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud chaired a meeting of the parliamentarians participating in the UN General Assembly emergency session on combating corruption, held via visual communication technology on Thursday.
In his speech at the meeting, His Excellency stressed the importance of the role of parliamentarians in making the emergency session of the UN General Assembly a success and produce results that contribute to confronting corruption that has a direct negative impact on the development process in many countries of the world and wastes the resources of countries that should have been utilized for the good and welfare of people.
