PM's aide gives rationale behind pay scale move - Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Establishment Mohammad Shehzad Arbab has said that the government after due deliberations has allowed bureaucrats to compete for lucrative Management Pay-scale positions and opened the top secretariat posts to the private sector.
“The decision to allow the serving civil servants to compete with outsiders for MP scales was taken by the cabinet after careful deliberations at the Cabinet Committee on Institutional Reforms. In fact, we are opening up top secretariat posts, so far reserved for generalist cadre officers, to technical experts from the private sector as well as those from within the government” Mr Arbab said in a statement. ....

The review of the performance of ministries and divisions during the third quarter of the FY 2020-21 has been initiated with a series of meetings by the Peer Review Committee under the chairmanship of Mohammad Shehzad Arbab, SAPM on Establishment here at PM Office.
The FBR, Water Resource Division, Railways Division, Aviation Division and National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division presented their performance reports today under the Performance Agreements signed between the Prime Minister and the ministers concerned.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday told his ministers that half-way in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s rule, “it is time to deliver” and that there are “no more excuses” as he assigned targets to various ministries to improve governance as part of his ambitious reforms agenda.
“There is no excuse for the government for any lack of experience. It is time to deliver,” the Prime Minister told his cabinet members after they inked a ‘Performance Agreement of Ministries for the Year 2020-21’.
The Performance Agreement a novel approach is designed to by picking up the pace on how federal ministries work for an overall improved governance. The Prime Minister warned that the people found responsible for “red-tapism” in ministries, particularly in case of projects beneficial for the country, would be penalised. ....

SAPM inaugurates gas pipeline

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Establishment Mohammad Shehzad Arbab inaugurated a new gas pipeline here on Friday.
On the occasion, Arbab said that domestic gas consumers in Peshawar had been facing the problems of shortage and low pressure since long.
“After assuming power, the PTI government focused attention on the solution to the gas problem and after consistent efforts, we have been able to address the issue,” he added.
A 12-inch wide and 16km long pipeline has been connected with the main gas pipeline, which will help to increase the gas pressure for domestic usage. The new pipeline will facilitate at least 1,50,000 households. ....
