Hyderabad-based NGO provides oxygen to needy COVID-19 patients By Sameer| Published: 22nd April 2021 3:11 pm IST Hyderabad: Amid rise in the COVID-19 cases in Hyderabad, many people are running from pillar to post in search of oxygen cylinders that is being sold at unprecedented high price. In this difficult time, a Hyderabad-based NGO, Sakina Foundation has come forward to help needy persons. The foundation is providing oxygen cylinders of all sizes to them. The foundation is receiving around 200 calls per day. Although, it is trying to help as much persons as possible, it is not possible to help all of them due to shortage of oxygen. ....
Sakina Foundation organizes free health camp in Hyderabad By Mohammed Hussain| Published: 18th January 2021 1:11 pm IST Hyderabad: A free multi-specialty health camp was conducted by Sakina Foundation at Shaikpet, Virat Nagar and MG Nagar on Sunday. More than 700 persons were screened at the health camp, which offered general physician, pediatric, gynecologist and orthopedic consultation-cum-follow-up. Social activists from women empowerment organizations volunteered in the health camp. Free medicines worth Rs. 1 Lakh were given to around 700 persons for various ailments. Along with that, first aid was also administered to the locals. Volunteers of Sakina Foundation also conducted a sanitation drive in three localities to ensure residents live in a hygienic environment. ....
Hyderabad: Man donates Rs 4 lakhs to police for CCTV cameras By Mohammed Hussain| Published: 23rd December 2020 2:00 pm IST Hyderabad: With an aim to protect the neighborhood from crimes, a Hyderabadi on Monday went a step ahead on Tuesday to donate Rs. 4 lakh to the city police as his contribution towards the purchase of close circuit television (CCTV) cameras. Mohammed Asif Hussain Sohail, Chairman of Sakina Foundation, bore this idea in mind after the residents of Tolichowki and Shaikpet lodged several complaints with the police about the nuisance caused. Notably, police had convinced the residents to crowdfund for the installation of CCTVs for their own benefit. The residents also pooled in as much as Rs. 32 lakhs. ....
