ICCP, PCCI hold vax summit April 30

TO HELP ensure the effective administration of Covid-19 vaccines throughout the country, the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines (ICCP), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) are organizing a virtual meeting of experts and policymakers dubbed the Vaccine Summit: Equitable Distribution and Safety set Friday, April 30.
Amb. Francis Chua, founding chairman of ICCP and chairman emeritus of PCCI, said the summit will provide information on the status of the global distribution of the vaccines against Covid-19.
We know how critical this vaccination program is to achieve herd immunity faster and hasten our socioeconomic recovery. This is why we have to make sure the inoculation programs of the government and the private sector will be effective, safe, and equitable, Chua said. ....

At a COVID-safe ceremony at the FCWC Secretariat in Tema, Ghana, six laptops were provided to the FCWC to support the capture, analysis and reporting on fisheries data in Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria and Togo.
Funded by FAO through a Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP), the initiative is part of FAO’s broader work with CECAF to support regional institutions to better transform fisheries recommendations into policy action and to improve artisanal fisheries’ data frameworks across the CECAF region.
“The provision of the devices will support beneficiary countries to capture and analyse catch data on vessels, landings sites and related fishing activities which will strengthen our understanding of capture fisheries in the region,” Ndiaga Gueye, FAO Senior Fishery and Aquaculture Officer and Secretary of CECAF, said. “With this knowledge, countries can better monitor illegal fishing and the heath of key fish stocks,” he said. ....

NUR-SULTAN. KAZINFORM The Fishery Committee is founded as part of the Kazakh Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Ministry to contribute to efficient realization of the recently adopted 2030 Fishery Development Programme, Kazinform reports.
