(Bismarck, ND) North Dakota House Assistant Majority Leader Scott Louser is set to go to trial on a DUI charge in late summer. The 49-year-old Minot Republican was stopped on the Expressway between Mandan and Bismarck in mid-April after a Highway Patrol Trooper observed his vehicle crossing the center line. The Trooper arrested Louser for drunken driving after the lawmaker failed three field sobriety tests and tested at jail for a blood alcohol content over the legal limit. Louser pled not guilty through his attorney last Wednesday and waived an initial court appearance.
30 minutes to vote in North Dakota? Officials say it would be more of a guideline than a rule

BISMARCK A massive North Dakota elections package that now awaits the signature of Gov. Doug Burgum contains a provision that would put a 30-minute time limit on casting a ballot at a polling place.
(Bismarck, ND) North Dakota House Assistant Majority Leader Scott Louser is pleading not guilty to DUI. Louser s attorney filed his written plea with the court yesterday along with a request for various pieces of evidence. Louser has waived his May 12th initial court appearance. If convicted, Louser faces a maximum of 30 days in jail and a 15-hundred-dollar fine. Louser was pulled over early on April 16th when a Highway Patrol Trooper says the Assistant Majority Leader had crossed the center line several times. Authorities say the 49-year-old Minot Republican failed three sobriety tests, refused another, and had a blood alcohol content over the legal limit.
