ATV crash injures two, alcohol suspected

May 3, 2021 Two were injured following a Saturday evening All Terrain Vehicle crash in Sanilac County’s Delaware Township. According to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office, the ATV was traveling on Wetzel Road east of Ruth Road in Deleware Township w hen the driver left the roadway, over-corrected, and caused the vehicle to overturn. The 25 year old Driver from Minden City as well as a 49 year old man and 33 year old woman from Deckerville were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver and female passenger were taken to area hospitals for treatment while the male passenger was uninjured. Police say alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt are believed to be factors in the crash.

Upper Thumb adds 52 new COVID cases, four deaths on Saturday FacebookTwitterEmail (Tribune File Photo) UPPER THUMB The Upper Thumb had 52 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and four new deaths on Saturday, according to the state’s daily coronavirus update. Huron County had 13 new confirmed cases and one new death, with the county’s total now at 1,208 cases and 34 deaths. Tuscola County saw 25 new confirmed cases and one new death, bringing its totals to 2,170 cases and 77 deaths. Sanilac County had 14 new confirmed cases and two new deaths, with its numbers now at 1,298 cases and 52 deaths. Across the state, there were 3,896 new confirmed cases and 187 new deaths, of which 155 of those were identified during a vital records review.
