PANAMA CITY BEACH One local hospital is adding a second freestanding emergency room to its medical services in Bay County.
According to a press release from Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center in Panama City, the freestanding ER will be located at the intersection of Panama City Beach Parkway (U.S. 98, Back Beach Road) and Moylan Road. Officials expect to break ground later this year.
Gulf Coast Regional CEO Brad Griffin said the ER will give patients and families more access to emergency care. Currently, Panama City Beach does not have a full-service hospital.   ....

PANAMA CITY BEACH For Dan Rowe, president and CEO of Visit Panama City Beach, Memorial Day weekend is the official kickoff to summer.
With the holiday weekend quickly looming and a record number of tourists already in the area, Rowe said he believes this peak season looks very promising for Panama City Beach.
