After COVID disruption, Flash Forward project helps Melbourne arts and music scene get back into the groove

Add a musician, TBA, carrying some fresh-pressed vinyl, and it’ll feel like Melbourne is getting its grooves back. But who the hell was going to pay for all this? As it happens: the City of Melbourne and the Victorian government, in a match made in a pandemic. The two have come together to create a joint venture called Flash Forward, funded out of Working for Victoria, a $500 million pot earmarked for local governments to employ Victorian jobseekers – especially those who lost work due to COVID-19 restrictions.
