The North-West Zonal Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ended abruptly on Saturday after it was disrupted by thugs.
Scores of party faithful had stormed the International Trade Fair Complex in the Kaduna State capital for the exercise which was attended by some PDP chieftains.
Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, and a former National Caretaker Chairman of the party, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, were among those present while Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, was absent at the congress. ....

A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDD) in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA), Elder Emmanuel Nwabrije has said that the ongoing campaigns being vigorously carried out by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the state, ahead of the April 17 polls, are in order.

Nwabrije, a former Governorship candidate of Democratic People s Party (DPP) in the 2019 governorship Elections, said although there appeared to be no clear formidable opposition in view, the PDP had to embark on electioneering campaign in line with the Electoral law. ....

COVID-19: Ondo Restricts Attendance at Akeredolu's Inauguration Ceremony

The Ondo State Government yesterday said attendance at programmes for the inauguration ceremony of Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredoluâs second term in office would be restricted to maximum of 500 guests.
The Chairman of the 25-man Inauguration Committee and Deputy Governor-elect, Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa, stated this while briefing journalists on the activities lined up for the ceremony that would commence on Tuesday, February 22,2021.
The Deputy Governor-elect, said the restriction for the events was due to the ravaging COVID-19 Pandemic.
Ayedatiwa, who was flanked by the former Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Donald Ojogo who is the Chairman of the Media Sub Committee of the ceremony, said all the programmes, would be indoor. ....
