KOMO is taking you inside the dangerous job of avalanche control work. Snoqualmie Pass had the snowiest February in 20 years. This snow is creating a big challenge for crews that are working hard to keep these passes safe from destructive avalanches. WSDOT Communications Manager Meagan Lott says working on avalanche control can be treacherous, but crews are highly trained and qualified. They take every precaution possible and that’s their job - their job is to control the avalanches that we do bring down in the safest possible way, said Lott. ....
