‘Sweet lime orchards of several aspirants damaged in Pulivendula’ TDP MLC M. Ravindranath Reddy has alleged that YSRCP activists destroyed sweet lime orchards of many sarpanch candidates backed by rival political parties in Pulivendula Assembly constituency, which is being represented by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Several sweet lime orchards have allegedly been damaged in Pydipalem, Mallela, Duggannagaripalle, Pedda Juturu and Gurajala panchayats where the polls are scheduled to be held on February 17. Police protection sought The issue came to light with Mr. Ravindranath Reddy, who is TDP’s Pulivendula constituency in-charge, along with the victims, met Superintendent of Police K.K.N. Anburajan on Monday. The MLC sought police protection for the candidates in view of the ‘perceived threat’. The SP assured to look into the issue. ....
‘Ruling party trying to force unanimous polls’ With all set for the third phase of panchayat elections on Wednesday, complaints pertaining to sarpanch candidates supported by the rival parties of the YSRCP being coerced by the ruling party functionaries are pouring in the home district of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. “The YSRCP leaders continue to threaten or offer sops to the candidates backed by the opposition parties to not contest the polls,” TDP’s Pulivendula constituency in-charge M. Ravindranath Reddy alleged in a media conference here on Tuesday. Mr. Ravindranath Reddy, on Monday, met Superintendent of Police K.K.N. Government trying to terrorise opposition party leaders, says TDP MLC Telugu Desam MLC M. Ravindranath Reddy alias B.Tech Ravi has accused the State government of trying to terrorise the opposition party leaders by framing them in false cases. Speaking to the media at the Kadapa central prison upon his release on bail on Monday, the MLC said he was ready to face any number of such ‘false’ cases as he strongly believed that they would all blow away. He accused the ‘educated and well-mannered’ police officials of making false statements during his arrest. “First they said they were arresting me under Prevention of SC/ST Atrocities Act and later changed it to the riots case. ....
Cases registered against the TDP MLC in Pulivendula in 2018 TDP MLC M. Ravindranath Reddy alias ‘B.Tech’ Ravi of Kadapa district was arrested reportedly at the Chennai airport on Sunday. Mr. Ravi was an accused in the violent incidents that were witnessed in the Poola Angallu area of Pulivendula town in 2018. A warrant had been issued alleging his involvement in rioting and attempt to murder. The violent incidents were triggered by the challenges and counter-challenges by the TDP and YSRCP leaders on the development of the Pulivendula constituency, for which workers of both the parties gathered at the spot on January 4, 2018. ....
‘It is another instance of Jagan’s vindictive attitude’ TDP national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has slammed the State government for “illegally arresting” TDP MLC M. Ravindranath Reddy alias ‘B.Tech’ Ravi in Chennai. In a statement, Mr. Naidu said that Mr. Ravi was arrested only because he had exposed the government’s failure to nab the accused in the murder of a Dalit woman in Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Assembly constituency in Kadapa district. “Mr. Ravi has been wrongfully arrested a month after the rape and murder of the SC woman in Pulivendula. This is another instance of the Chief Minister’s intolerance and vindictive attitude. Instead of nabbing the culprits, the police are framing the TDP leaders who expose the government’s failure,” Mr. Naidu said. ....
