Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis visited a COVID-19 vaccination site operated by Ascension Sacred Heart at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola.
The Governor was joined at the event by Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, state Senator Doug Broxson and state Representatives Alex Andrade and Michelle Salzman.
Ascension Sacred Heart has completed vaccinating their frontline health care workers and are expanding their efforts to the community.
The hospital will have administered 3,500 vaccinations in two days at Olive Baptist and the Milton Community Center by the end of Thursday. These vaccinations were reserved for individuals 65 years of age and older and were available by appointment only. All of the appointment slots have been filled. ....

Santa Rosa Launches COVID Vaccinations

Santa Rosa County began administering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible residents Tuesday morning at the county health department. Additionally, on Wednesday, Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital plans to conduct two mass vaccination clinics, including one in Milton.
In Santa Rosa, the COVID-19 vaccine is coming at a crucial time.
“Our positivity rate is 29.2% and that’s significant. The state rate is 12.2%, so you can see we’re trending well above the state,” said Sandra Park-O’Hara, director of the Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa. ....

Santa Rosa County: COVID-19 vaccines, 'mass vaccination' Milton, Pensacola

Only those with pre-registered appointments can get the vaccine Wednesday.
To register for Sacred Heart s vaccinations, residents can sign up at Ascension s website, getsacredheartcare.com, once it is available. The website was not available for sign-ups as of Monday afternoon, and hospital staff did not know when it will be available.
Appointments can be made by calling Santa Rosa County s citizen info line at 850-983-INFO, but due to an overwhelming call volume, staff have asked that residents wait for the Ascension website to go live to register online.
Additionally, the Department of Health in Santa Rosa County has 2,800 vaccines available and will begin vaccinating people at the Milton Community Center starting on Tuesday and continuing through Friday. That vaccination event also is open to any U.S. resident 65 or older, not just Santa Rosa County residents. To register for those vaccines, call 850-983-INFO. ....
