Grays councillor is backing The Blues Speaking ahead of Thursday’s meeting of the Thurrock Council Planning Committee, he said: “After a decade of homelessness, this plan will provide a secure base for Grays Athletic Football Club and give the club a ground to finally call its own. It will bring Ship Lane back to life as permanent community football asset, and provide increased sporting opportunities for local people through a Community Use Agreement. “Of course, the ultimate aim of the Blues and its fans is a move back to the town of Grays. This is an ambition which I share wholeheartedly. However, this move to Ship Lane doesn’t hamper that long term aim – it actually enhances it, by ensuring that the club has a secure base to build on. ....

Deepings Neighbourhood Plan to go to referendum at local elections on Thursday, May 6 Published: 06:00, 16 February 2021 More than four years of hard work by volunteers has succeeded in the creation of a detailed document to guide development. The Deepings Neighbourhood Plan, put together by elected members of Market Deeping Town Council and Deeping St James Parish Council, is designed to ensure planning applications conform to locally devised policies. The document, if approved by residents at a referendum in May, is to be used in conjunction with South Kesteven District Councilâs Local Plan, until 2036. Market Deeping Independent examiner Andrew Ashcroft has been looking at the draft plan to make sure it is suitable. In his evaluation document, he said: âThe plan includes a range of policies and seeks to bring forward positive and sustainable development in the neighbourhood area. ....
A Chauncey man was indicted last week after being arrested several times in connection to drug charges and a string of catalytic converter thefts. An Athens County Grand Jury returned an indictment Feb. 10 on David L. Willison, 45, for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, according to a news release from the Athens County Sheriffâs Office. He was arrested on an active warrant and is being held at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. A bond hearing is scheduled for a later date. In January, authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on 15829 Railroad St. in Millfield, suspecting a large sum of money being stored in connection to both the converter thefts and drug sales. Police recovered $30,000 from within a safe at the residence and later obtained a confession as to how the money was obtained. ....

Happy weeks were spent scouting locations in the West Bank region in search of the perfect settings for the scenes depicted in the script in only his second visit to the birthplace of his parents. He soaked up the breathtaking scenery and filmed in a restored Ottoman fortress village surrounded by olive groves. The result was 1987 s Wedding in Galilee, the first studio feature film shot in Palestine, depicting life under curfew following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. It would go on to win a clutch of awards, including the prestigious International Critics Prize at Cannes, and propel Khleifi on the path to directorial eminence. ....
